Louisiana hit-and-run kills man on bicycle

When there is a car crash in Louisiana, there can be injuries and fatalities. While some accidents happen due to driver behavior, others are simply a matter of circumstance. Regardless of the reason for the accident, one foundational fact is that the drivers involved should remain at the scene to exchange insurance information, call for emergency assistance if necessary and make certain that everyone is safe. Unfortunately, some choose not to do that. When there are car accidents with a hit-and-run, it is even more important for those who were affected by it to have legal help from start to end.

A 55-year-old man died when he was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle that hit him fled the scene. The accident happened at night at near midnight. Witnesses stated that they came upon the man and found that he was on the sidewalk with his bicycle in the road. A vehicle, thought to be a Chevrolet SUV, drove off after apparently hitting the man. The car accident victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement in Lake Charles is actively seeking the vehicle and its driver.

With any car accident, having a full investigation is paramount. This is especially true when it is a combination of a fatal car crash and a vehicle fleeing the scene. A hit-and-run is not just irresponsible, it is criminal. Those who have suffered injuries or lost a loved one in a hit-and-run auto accident should understand that everything they will be confronted with in its aftermath -- medical expenses, emotional and personal turmoil, loss of companionship, lost wages -- will be substantial. They should be prepared to move forward with a case for compensation as soon as the hit-and-run driver is caught.

A man who is believed to have been on his bicycle was hit by a vehicle and died. The vehicle fled the scene sparking a law enforcement investigation to find it and the driver. Individuals who are injured in hit-and-run accidents, or their families if the victim is killed, may want to protect themselves by contacting an experienced legal professional as soon as possible.
