Fatal accident kills man when towed boat comes loose from vehicle

A fatal accident in Louisiana can happen in numerous ways, and some of them are unusual. People can suffer a fatal accident when driving, while at work, when simply crossing the street or even in their own homes. No matter the cause, the loss of a loved one will inevitably result in emotional and personal upheaval. A key to pursuing compensation after a fatal accident is the investigation into the circumstances. Having legal assistance in a wrongful death case is crucial.

An early-afternoon accident led to the death of a 49-year-old man. The accident occurred at around 1:00 p.m. when a boat that was attached to a vehicle came loose and hit the man’s car. A 20-year-old man was driving the vehicle, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, that was towing the boat. The other driver was heading in the opposite direction and was hit when the loose boat crossed the centerline and hit his car on its passenger side. Although the driver wore his seatbelt, his injuries were severe enough that he was killed. The other driver was not hurt. Law enforcement is investigating the case. It is not believed that either driver was impaired at the time of the crash.

Families who have suffered the loss of a loved one in a fatal accident will suffer from the initial shock of the unexpected death. When it happens due to a freak incident, it can be even more painful because it did not need to happen. This is when it becomes crucial to have a full investigation into the circumstances. The person who died might have been a breadwinner, a stay-at-home parent, a young person who was beginning his or her life or anyone else. These incidents do not discriminate. Seeking compensation will not bring that person back, but it can grant some closure to the family and help them move on.

In this accident, a man died when a boat came loose from another vehicle that was towing it and the boat crashed into the dead man’s vehicle. The investigation into this case is ongoing, but when fatal accidents such as this occur, it can help to discuss a potential legal filing with a personal injury attorney.
