Passenger critically injured after being ejected in car accident

When drivers in Lake Charles and across Louisiana do not adhere to the rules of the road, it inevitably puts others in danger. In car accidents caused in these circumstances, those who are hit can suffer critical injuries and even death.

According to recent reports, a two-vehicle auto accident led to a passenger being thrown from a vehicle and suffering critical injuries. The accident investigation showed that the driver of a 2003 Toyota Camry was heading west when it went through a red light. It hit a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. When the vehicles collided, the female passenger in the Chevy was thrown and landed in the road. The driver of the Toyota was moderately injured and hospitalized. The driver of the Chevy was not hurt. Law enforcement gave the driver of the Toyota a citation for going through the light. The driver of the Chevy was given a citation for driving while his license was suspended. The drivers were given toxicology tests and the investigation is continuing.

There are many factors that must be considered after a person was injured in a car accident. Returning to normal health is the most important and that will often require extensive medical treatment, surgical procedures and rehabilitation. In some cases, the injuries are so severe that the person can never return to some sense of normalcy, let alone get back to work. This is when it is imperative to consider the costs that will accrue after a car crash and think about a legal filing. Many people might think about relying on the insurance company to pay for their losses, but that is rarely sufficient.

As the injured woman from this recent accident is treated and the investigation moves forward, she and her family may consider the future and potential legal options when it comes to car accidents.
