Fatal accident kills road worker attaching traffic control sign

Accidents can occur with any kind of job, but those in construction, law enforcement, emergency response and others who are in physically treacherous types of employment are more vulnerable. Still, if there is a fatal accident, it is important that the family think about their needs and consider a wrongful death legal filing.

A 48-year-old road worker who was in the process of attaching a sign to control traffic to a pickup was hit by another vehicle. He later died.

The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. A 2015 Kia Forte was heading west on the interstate when it crashed into the man and the sign he was attaching. It is not known why the 32-year-old man driving the Kia hit the worker and the sign. Law enforcement does not believe the driver of the Kia was under the influence, but he was tested. The case is being investigated and charges are possible.

The unexpected loss of a loved one can have extensive ramifications on a family. As they seek to recover from the untimely death, there are many factors that must be considered. This is especially true when the incident that led to the fatality occurred while the person was working.

The lost income and pain and suffering should be factored in. Also important are the emotional implications that a family will face after a fatal work accident. Before accepting a settlement from an insurer and deciding against filing a lawsuit, having legal advice to assess the options is a crucial step.

Workers who are on stationed on roadways and doing repair work are notoriously at risk for being involved in an accident. Because they are often outside their vehicles, if they are hit by a car, it can cause severe injuries and result in a fatality. People who have been impacted by a fatal work accident should think about their future and prepare for a wrongful death legal filing with assistance from a qualified attorney.
